Purpose and Scope of Job:
Primarily responsible for ensuring timely and quality production of products through continual process refinement using production best practices.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
- Monitor/evaluate the effectiveness of assembly operations in the areas of safety, operating costs and absorption, manufacturing efficiency, quality, production schedule adherence, training and development and preventative/corrective maintenance. Take corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage Maintenance, Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving, and Assembly personnel.
- Ensure employee conformance to established procedures and quality level of product.
- Apply process/equipment knowledge to set challenging individual and facility standards within the shop.
- Build a performance-driven culture through coaching, conflict resolution succession planning and talent development
- Effectively collaborate with cross-functional areas (engineering, quality, production control, etc.) to optimize development of assembly methods to drive down cost-of-goods and assembly labor in order to meet corporate ROI, profitability, efficiency and absorption targets and to achieve satisfactory customer service and product quality.
- Help identify root causes of issues and implement effective corrective action
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives identifying opportunities for implementing lean manufacturing processes.
- Use and promote the idea of “faster, more efficient” to drive change in the organization. Increase Operator participation in the program.
- Help identify/implement inventory control activities to improve control/organization/preservation of physical warehouse inventory.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or equivalent experience.
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in managing assembly line functions in a manufacturing environment.
- Five (5) years of production planning/control experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in creating production schedules and maintaining production orders.
- Experience working as a cross-functional team member in supporting production, cost saving initiatives, quality/complaint investigations and other supply chain related activities; and experience in resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, Excel
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma concepts, and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment.

Duties are performed in an industrial environment.
