We have started doing business in Thailand more than 30 years ago and since then supplied 11 boilers to the market and serving many others. Now it is time for Sumitomo SHI FW to bring over 100 hundred years of comprehensive experience in thermal power plants to the plant owners to manage these extraordinary assets for next 30 years assuring the best production and availability.

The role – Customer Manager, Services
We are seeking a proactive and customer-oriented Customer Manager to take ownership of customer relations throughout the full life cycle of the plants. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional collaboration, enjoys working closely with customers, and is committed to delivering value-added solutions that ensure long-term satisfaction and performance.
As Customer Manager, Services, you will drive the Service business growth by
- Serve as the primary point of contact for designated customers, ensuring strong and consistent customer relationships across the plant’s lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate customer service activities across internal teams (tendering, project management, technical service) to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Manage proposal creation in response to RFQs, including technical and commercial documentation (proposal letters, appendices, time schedules, cost calculations).
- Organize and lead internal and external kick-off meetings for proposals and awarded projects.
- Act as Project Manager for assigned customer accounts, plants, and selected service projects, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
- Ensure technical and commercial alignment between customer needs and internal execution, working closely with plant management, operators, and engineering teams.
- Manage Service Agreements, ensuring contractual obligations are met, and coordinate with the project controller for financial performance tracking.
- Coordinate post-delivery warranty activities in collaboration with project teams..
- Contribute actively to service business development initiatives alongside business directors.
In this role you will report to “Director, Customer Care, Thailand” and be located in Bangkok, Thailand – with some amount of domestic and international travel.
To be successful in this role, we expect
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customer service, technical project management, or energy/power plant industry roles.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating customer-facing projects.
- Strong commercial and technical acumen, with ability to understand complex technical issues and propose practical solutions.
- Experience from maintenance and service business, background from power plant engineering is a plus.
- Familiarity with maintenance contracts, Service Agreements frameworks, and aftermarket project execution is an advantage.
- Strong plus if You already have an understanding of the energy industry and its’ value chains and value generating mechanisms, as well how technologies add value to customers business in it. At least you have a great appetite and capability to learn this fast based on your earlier experience.
- You are keen on building strong relationships both externally with customers & partners and internally with colleagues cross-functionally.
- You enjoy multitasking & challenges and are a high achiever with positive, can-do mentality and integrity
- You have sound judgement and the ability for independent evaluation and decision-making
- Fluent in English and in Thai language(s)
