The Operations Director - Korea, plays a key role in operations of SFW Korea Ltd. Services and Project delivery to customers. The role focuses on strengthening project execution capabilities for Korean market utilizing SFW’s global best practices including personal management and communication skills to bring in multicultural global organization support to local ways of working.
This position combines large scale modernization projects management and small scale Services operations management. To be successful in this role, you need to be able to communicate fluently with customers, understanding their business needs and create win-win solutions considering all stakeholders - customers, partners, suppliers, manufacturers and contractors.
Purpose
Overall responsibility and authority to manage project activities within the limits defined in SFW procedures/Instructions to achieve company strategic and project objectives.
Manage Korea Services execution operations and team.
Be part of global Service project delivery team.
Key responsibilities:
Manages assigned project(s) and leads project teams in execution. Applies the company’s work processes and instructions to plan, direct and control all activities on the assigned project(s).
Is responsible for project’s HSSE performance:
Project – monitor the performance and take corrective actions as necessary
Ensures that HSSE plans will be properly implemented (inductions, procedure, training, resources, reporting, etc.).
Project team members and subcontractors comply with their obligations.
Works closely and effectively with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Functions as the organization’s primary contact with the client during execution of projects and services
Organizes the project team and arranges for the selection of lead project team members
Ensures adherence to quality and safety standards.
Is responsible for meeting or exceeding as-sold financial objectives, timely delivery of work and achieving a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Reports promptly to management any unusual execution problems and consults these issues timely with other experts / functions.
Works closely with the company’s function heads who have the responsibility for the various execution processes (e.g. engineering-, procurement- and project controls -processes) and the technical / functional quality of the work performed by the assigned project team members
Maintains and develops further customer relationships established in the project acquisition phase, including contractual and social relationship.
Develop partner network to provide full portfolio of SFW Services within Korean market.
Together with sales team, creates winning execution models for profitable project contracting.
Main Tasks:
Prepares PEP and keeps it up-dated
Manages and control project’s safety subjects
Manages and controls project’s risks/opportunities
Promotes learning between projects
Communicates with all applicable project stake holders
Administers project changes and negotiates them with the client
Coordinates and approves all budgets and schedules for the project
Prepares key project reports, and approves those prepared by others
Assures the project is properly closed-out
Prepares and/or manages selected subject/items on proposals
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of proven success in B2B project business in industrial solutions
Demonstrated leadership experience with accountability for teams and budgets.
Ability to communicate effectively with executives on customer organizations.
Persistent, positive, and pragmatic leadership style with strong cultural awareness.
Experience working across geographies, cultures, and time zones in an international organization.
Fluent in English and in Korean.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, technology, or economics.
